AIMS
AND OBJECTIVES:
- To
promote the art and culture of adivasis of the Chotanagpur tribal region for
attainment of the purposes of the association. The Chotanagpur tribal region
includes geographical area of Jharkhand and tribal districts of Chattisgarh,
Orissa and West Bengal wherin tribals like Oraon, Munda, Kharia, Santhal, Ho
etc. belong.
- To
preserve, promote and safeguard the tribal culture, traditions and
languages.
- To
establish effectively and efficiently and to promote by every means, close
social and cultural relationship among the adivasis in India, with a view to
furthering mutual understanding and goodwill.
- To
promote social, cultural, religious, moral, legal, civic and economic
awareness among adivasis.
- To
preserve, promote, safeguard, watch and to act in furtherance of the rights,
interests and privileges of the adivasis in economic, social and cultural
fields and to procure for them good condition of living so as to merge in
the national mainstream of the country.
- To
promote unity and foster fraternity among adivasis and to inculcate self
confidence, self respect and dignity by accommodating them in religious,
social, cultural and economic programs in furtherance of the spirit of
fellow feeling, services, solidarity, co-operation and mutual support among
the members.
- To
work towards the implementation of privileges and concessions, admisable and
available from the govt., semi govt. bodies, voluntary organizations and
others for the upliftment and welfare of the adivasis.
- To
engage in charitable, social, economic, cultural, sports, educational and
developmental activities relating to the welfare of the adivasis.
- To
undertake and engage in activities to help the sick, disabled, the needy,
the poor and the downtrodden irrespective of caste, creed, language or
religion etc.
- To
take steps to safeguard the legitimate rights, liberties and interests of
all the members in particular and the public in general and to make
representation of such matters to the govt. and semi govt. and others.
- To
associate, cooperate, federate and affiliate with any regional, national and
international organization with the same and/or similar objects of the
association.
- To
supervise, direct and coordinate the activities of the units or branches, if
any, of the association.
- To
encourage the members running self-employment projects including educational
institutions and also to assist in finding and securing jobs for the
adivasis.
- To
undertake economic projects or social welfare programs or such other
activities for the benefit of the needy, marginalized and oppressed
adivasis.
- To
extend reasonable aid or relief to members against unemployment and/or any
other exigencies provided the fund permits at the particular moment subject
to the sanction of the central executive committee.
- To
establish an effective strong fellowship by lawful and non violent means, to
raise the status and improve the social, religious, economic and educational
level of the adivasis and to secure for them the right to social security
and social justice and the rightful place as envisaged in the Indian
constitution.
- To
establish and maintain libraries and information services to facilitate the
study of adivasi way of life and their problems and spreading information in
regard thereto.
- To
organize such activities as social and cultural gatherings, camps,
symposiums, seminars, conventions, training programs etc. to educate,
develop and promote adivasi culture, language, civic, social and economic
condition and national consciousness to play useful and effective roll in
the public life of the country and to contribute for the national
integration.
- To
establish units or branches in Mumbai, its suburbs or adjoining areas at
convenient and viable centers so as to promote the objectives of the
association. Such units or branches, if any, of the association shall be
governed by the same constitution.
- To
work for and to provide leadership opportunities and encourage competitive
spirit among youth in various fields of education, sports, games, music,
art, etc. and also to work for the innovation and creativity of their
cultural synthesis.
- To
arrange cultural programs, competitions and to hold exhibitions on art,
culture, handicrafts and to celebrate cultural festivals.
- To
do all other lawful things necessary for or incidental and conducive to the
attainment or advancement of the aims and objects of the association.
- The
association shall not take part in any form of political activity.
